Kamille Au Kanada doubled her score for the season with a decisive success from the front under a penalty in a novice hurdle over two and a half miles at Hereford on Monday.
When I saw the race I felt it was a good opportunity to give her more experience and she took full advantage, jumping better than at Chepstow fifteen days ago where she had quite a hard race in finishing fifth.
We are still learning about Kamille Au Kanada, a gutsy mare we bought last November for her three enthusiastic owners after she landed a Point-to-Point in Ireland.
Although she will have a handicap mark on Saturday week there is no rush to run her again quickly.
She is a novice for the whole season and we still don’t really know her preferences for trip and ground. It will be fun finding out.
Kamille Au Kanada was taking our score for the season to fourteen for the season and though we have been a little quiet over the past couple of weeks we should be busy this weekend with several interesting runners at Ascot.
