Mister Allegro doubled his score over hurdles with a decisive victory from the front in the Racing Welfare juvenile hurdle sponsored by Martin Collins Surfaces at Wincanton on Sunday.
His jumping was slick and professional throughout and though the pack briefly began to close turning for home he began to draw clear again at the second last where, when asked by jockey Rex Dingle, he gained further ground with another spring-heeled jump.
He then galloped on strongly to win with plenty in hand by seven lengths from the odds on favourite Sonning.
Mister Allegro, owned by Steve Browning, has now impressed on both his starts over hurdles and we might now raise our sights by sending him to Wetherby this Friday for the Listed Wensleydale Hurdle for which there are only eleven entries.
He has certainly earned the chance to step up in class while ground conditions are in his favour.
