FOUNTAINSPINKLADY MAKES ALL THE RUNNING . . . . .

FOUNTAINSPINKLADY delivered our eighth winner of the season with a fluent success from the front in a Mares’ Open National Hunt Flat Race at Newton Abbot on Monday ridden by Sam Twiston-Davies in the colours of the Fountains Partnership.

I know the family well, having pre-trained her dam Fountains Crumble who won five times.

I’ve trained all four of her offspring who are extremely tough and genuine and have the happy knack of surprising you.

The best of them was Fountains Windfall who reached a peak rating of 157 over fences at the age of eight before the injury that ended his career.

Fountainspinklady is the fourth foal of Fountains Crumble and won a Point-to-Point bumper this spring when trained by my sister, Teresa Clark, before joining us just over a month ago.

She showed plenty of promise on her debut for us at Worcester twelve days ago and progressed to win tidily on Monday in a race that carried a GBB bonus of £10,000 which goes mostly to her owners.

The plan now is to aim Fountainspinklady at a mares’ novice hurdle at Worcester at the end of August which is another GBB bonus race.

The track will suit her better as will the step up in trip to two and a half miles.
