FAROUK STRIKES AGAIN . . . . . .

FAROUK DE CHENEAU doubled his score for us with a thoroughly pleasing victory in a valuable Class 3 handicap Chase at Newton Abbot on Tuesday over two miles five furlongs in the colours of Owners Group 49.

He seems to have turned a corner since arriving at Potwell, and is such a clever jumper that he is almost quicker over a fence when in tight than when he stands off.

The moment Farouk De Cheneau lands he is straight into his stride which gives him a useful advantage over most of his rivals.

He was given a fine ride by Sam Twiston-Davies who switched into the box seat on the inner at half-way behind the leader who was jumping right-handed.

They pinged the ditch, set sail past the water jump and quickened up nicely on the flat to beat Fat Sam by three and three quarter lengths.

In comfortably defying an 8lbs rise for winning on his first start for us at Fontwell Farouk De Cheneau offered further promise for the future.

He is a novice for the whole season and will get entries in the Summer Plate at Market Rasen next month and also a decent novice handicap Chase back at Newton Abbot on July 23.

We might even have a look at an 80,000 Euros 0-140 handicap Chase for him at the Galway Festival.

  1. Congratulations on your second win with Farouk, we have had a share in him since he was bought by Owners Group and are delighted to see him so happy and thriving. Thank you to yourself and your team for the care and attention he receives and for booking Sam TD to ride him, what an awesome team they seem to be.

  2. Antony is a great trainer Nicky didn’t work his magic for some reason but this man can I think as a owner we have a bright future a head
