The new season kicks off for us at Fontwell with three runners tomorrow. It’s great to finally be back racing after such a long break. I’m reluctant to take chances on watered quick ground, so I’m delighted to see the rain, and to be able to run our horses on lovely safe ground.
KAYF SERA SERA runs in the 2m 3f Heart of the South Supports Fontwell Maiden Hurdle (Div 1) at 1.25. She is still quite green and backward, so not expecting too much from her tomorrow. But I’m hopeful that the penny will drop soon , and I’m looking for a clear round and for her to gain some confidence.
COQUELICOT runs in the Division 2 at 2.00 . She did brilliantly last season winning three bumpers in a row, including gaining a Listed win. I’m hopeful that she can continue the success and make up into a decent novice hurdler. Her schooling has gone well, and she has come to hand nicely again this season.
UCANAVER is having her first run for the yard in the 1m5½f Become An Owner At hotsr.co.uk Mares’ Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race at 5.30 . In her debut bumper back in February at Huntingdon she was second behind Coquelicot, and the third horse in that race won next time out. I bought her at the Cheltenham sale as I thought the form of that race looked solid. She has done everything well at home, and I’m expecting a bold bid. A good run at Fontwell and we will look to step her up to a listed bumper in the near future.
