SULLY D’OC AA completed an excellent season for us with a fluent success in a valuable Grade 2 handicap Chase over two miles at Punchestown on Thursday in the colours of JP McManus.

He put together some solid runs over fences last season without managing to get his head in front and and has progressed steadily since winning on his return to action at  Ascot in October.

His regular jockey Richie McLernon has played a big part in his improvement. He felt after Aintree that fitting cheek pieces at Punchestown would help the horse to concentrate better.

They certainly seemed to work on Thursday as he travelled comfortably throughout for Simon Torrens, jumping soundly and was always handy before leading two out and keeping on to score a stylish victory by two and quarter lengths from Raya Time.

Sully D’OC AA is now off on his holidays at Martinstown and as he is only seven I imagine we may have to raise our sights with him next season. He is a pleasure to train.

    Will the ground suit??

Thank you very much Stu. Ground didn’t quite suit, just not soft enough. But he had a great spin, and we were pleased with him. Looking forward to next season ! Lucy

  2. My Dad followed this Horse all last season as our surname is Sullivan. He died in September and I took on the role of backing him all this season. I was delighted to see him get his head in front, thought he was unlucky at both Cheltenham and Aintree, I’m really looking forward to seeing him again next season! Fantastic horse

Hi Mike, Very sad to hear about your father, and thank you for your comments. Please do get in touch if you’re in the area next season ,perhaps you’d like to come and see him on the gallops and give him an apple. Lucy
