FORWARD PLAN jumped superbly when landing the £20,000 Starsport.Bet Handicap Chase at Southwell on Monday in the colours of The Steeple Chasers.
He was given a lovely ride, handy down the inner, by Ben Godfrey before they eased ahead early in the straight on their way to beating Lord Sparky by eight lengths.
He has now won three times over fences from four starts and with every run this season he has got a bit higher at his fences with more more scope to his jumping and is also clever when he needs to be.
I am over the moon with Forward Plan who is growing in confidence, is really thriving now and travels well in his races.
While there are no firm plans at this stage I wouldn’t mind giving him another run in five or six weeks time before aiming him at a valuable three mile handicap chase at Uttoxeter in the summer off a lowish weight.
He certainly deserves a shot at a decent prize.
