BREAKING COVER? MORE LIKE BREAKING NERVES!!!!

Breaking Cover dug deep to win his second race in eleven days at Uttoxeter on Friday with the help of a determined ride from Sam Twiston-Davies.

Their chance seemed slim with Breaking Cover looking held after jumping the second last in fourth place.

But he found a second wind when switched towards the stands side, winged the final flight and edged ahead close to home in a tight photo finish.

The horse showed a lovely attitude to get himself out of trouble, tried hard and will now have a short break after two quick races.

Given that he has had a few issues over the past fourteen months he has done well to win back to back races in a short space of time.

We will see what how the handicapper reacts after this latest victory by Breaking Cover. We have the option of switching him to handicaps or aiming him at another novice hurdle under a double penalty when jump racing resumes in August after a three week break.
