Good Look Charm excelled herself with a spirited success in the £20,000 Virgin Bet Mares Handicap Hurdle at Exeter on Friday in the colours of the Isle of Blue and White syndicate.
She has done so well since joining us and took our score for the season to 28 which is one more than our total in the previous campaign.
Good Look Charm stays well, jumps soundly, handles deep ground and defied odds of 14-1 by making all the running, ridden by Rex Dingle before finding more on the flat to repel the determined challenge of Jaunty Freya.
The winner’s stable companion Credo started favourite but didn’t quite see her race out on this occasion. Good Look Charm, however, will be even better over further and looks to have a bright future.
She is now qualified for the EBF Mares’ Final at Newbury on April 2 and also the Challenger Series Final at Haydock a fortnight later. At this stage I’d say she is more likely to run at Newbury.
I was busy at the Cheltenham sales on Thursday and returned home with two nice prospects who both won on their debuts in Irish Point-to-Points recently.
I Giorni, an attractive Arcadio mare, cost £40,000. Doyen For Money, a free-going, athletic type by Doyen, cost £75,000.
Please be sure to contact me if you are interested in either of them.
