LE COEUR NET doubled his score for the season with his second success inside a fortnight at Ffos Las on Sunday.
He looked the one to beat after the overnight favourite Equus Dancer was withdrawn and though he had to work hard once on the run-in he was always holding the challenge of the runner-up Mouseinthehouse.
Le Coeur Net has given the owners , the Wessex Racing Club a lot of fun, continues to run well despite his handicap mark edging up, and was clearly at home on the deep ground at Ffos Las.
He was given a fine ride by our conditional Ben Godfrey who knows him well and is definitely worth his 7lbs claim.
Ben took Le Coeur Net to the front over three fences out and a fine jump at the final fence seemed to have sealed victory, although the horse was idling in front he was always holding Mouseinthehouse when he renewed his challenge.
Having started the season on a mark of 115, he was winning on Sunday off his new rating of 119 and is bound to go up again. But at the age of eight there should be more to come from him.
The Wessex Racing Club has a very impressive strike rate of 4 winners from 6 runners this season, giving their members plenty of sport. Contact Jeremy Blackburn on 07540755261 for membership details.
