It was lovely to see Glynn get off the mark over fences on the fifth attempt at Newton Abbot at the age of ten in the colours of the Owners’ Group.
He immediately took a prominent position, was able to hold it and was soon jumping in a nice rhythm in the lead for Sam Twiston-Davies.
A group of horses were just behind him, looking threatening, but one by one they dropped away until he was left clear over the last two fences on his way to beating Kauto The King by eight and a half lengths.
The drop in trip to two miles, five and a half furlongs seemed to suit Glynn who is making up into a decent chaser.
He has had his issues in the past but we have had a clear run with him since he joined us at the end of last year.
He has an entry at Stratford on Tuesday and that is an option under a penalty if he comes out of the race all right.
