CATCH HIM IF YOU CAN . . . . . . . .

CATCHINTSAVO justified his position as hot favourite with a pleasing first victory in a maiden hurdle over two miles, five furlongs at Ludlow on Thursday in the colours of the House Family Partnership.

I first met Richard a few years ago when I was invited to play in the annual Injured Jockeys Fund golf tournament at their leisure park in Brean, Somerset. When they later asked me to find them a nice chasing prospect, we purchased Catchintsavo at the Tattersalls Cheltenham Sale just over a year ago.

He’s been very consistent since joining us and was placed third in the bumper at the Punchestown Festival late last spring.

He was not winning out of turn at Ludlow, where his accurate jumping impressed jockey Sam Twiston-Davies as he battled on to beat Seaniecon in a tight finish. The form looks useful, with the third horse finishing thirty-two lengths further back.

Catchintsavo is a very promising horse going forward and should make a lovely chaser.

Our younger bumper horses are starting to come through with Steal A Glance, bred by my wife Rachael, beaten less than a length in second place on her debut at Ludlow while another newcomer Fine Tuning, bought overnight by Gary Firmager, also finished runner up in the bumper at Wincanton.
