Kdeux Saint Fray made a highly professional winning debut for us in a bumper at Ascot on Friday in the colours of his syndicate owners Les Bleus Fonces who live quite close to the track.
He travelled comfortably the whole way and found more when challenged by the previous winner Blues Singer to gain the verdict in a tight finish.
It was a lovely performance by a straightforward and mature four year old who impressed his jockey Johnny Burke.
Kdeux Saint Fray is by the popular sire Masked Marvel and had shown much promise when finishing second in a Point-to-Point bumper before winning his maiden Point-to-Point in ready fashion in May at Dingley where his jumping fast and accurate.
The obvious route now is to take him back to Ascot in a month’s time for a Listed bumper before we turn his attention to hurdles.
On Friday’s evidence he has a bright future.
