DANCE AND GLANCE bounced back to form with a highly pleasing success under a penalty in the opening novice hurdle at Taunton on Tuesday in the colours of Mere Racing.
In providing our 45th win of the season he took the prize money earned by our horses past £600,000.
Dance and Glance had started the season well, winning his bumper and maiden hurdle before running too keenly on soft ground on New Year’s Day at Catterick where he emptied quickly.
After that it was a case of forgetting the rest of the winter, giving him a wind op and freshening him up for a spring campaign on more suitable ground.
He was given a canny ride by Rex Dingle at Taunton in what basically developed into a match with the 5-1 odds on favourite Fasol.
Neither jockey was keen to make the running and they walked for the first fifty yards so it was a case of who was going to blink first.
When they did set off Rex was happy to track the favourite before challenging wide and late to snatch the verdict by a neck.
It was a lovely result for a progressive horse who has won three times this season. We will keep him to better ground and hopefully there should be more to come.
We didn’t have a single runner at Cheltenham but looking ahead we will be taking an interesting team to Aintree’s three day Grand National meeting.
