And So It Begins made the perfect start to her career with a fluent victory in the three-year-old mares’ bumper at Stratford on Thursday in the colours of a new syndicate called the Beginners Club put together by her breeder Martin Rowe.
We’ve had a fair bit of success for Martin in the past and were delighted when he sent this filly to us in June.
It was lovely to see Martin’s colours winning again and I have to say And So It Begins looked fantastic in the paddock, clearly the pick by some way.
A half-sister to the talented hurdler The Kemble Brewery, she was quite green going to the start and at times through the race but Sam Twiston-Davies gave her a very professional ride and brought her through a furlong out to win tidily.
There is a fair bit of improvement to come from And So It Begins who is a strong, forward going type so I’m hopeful this is the start of a rewarding career for her.
