THIS DOYEN’S IN THE MONEY AGAIN . . . . . . . . .

DOYEN FOR MONEY maintained the fine recent form of our team with a fluent success against a big field of handicappers hurdlers at Wincanton on Thursday.

He’s a buzzy type of horse, always on the go, and was given a lovely patient ride by Sam Twiston-Davies who trailed the field for a circuit before starting to smuggle him into the race on the final bend.

Doyen For Money then cruised up to the leading pack, led shortly after jumping the second last flight, and eased home by one and a half lengths from Chankaya without being at all hard pressed.

He jumped very well bar one mistake, doesn’t do much in front and is progressing nicely.

Doyen For Money will not be out again quickly under a penalty because he takes a lot out of himself in his races. He is becoming more professional as he gains experience and I wouldn’t rule out a switch to chasing before long.

Earlier in the day I was delighted with the run of Jail No Bail who finished third behind Il Pino on his second start over hurdles. He was a little bit rusty after a long break, should improve for the run, and I loved the way he hit the line.
