SHE SAID GET ME TO THE WINNERS ENCLOSURE . . . . . . .

Drying ground was a key factor in Getmetothemoon gaining a deserved first success in a Class 5 mares novice handicap hurdle off a mark of 86 at Stratford on Saturday evening.

Bred and owned by a great enthusiast Richard House, whose horses run under the banner of Unity Farm Holiday Centre, she has been running consistently through the winter at her level, jumping nicely and travelling well but not seeing out her races on soft ground.
Top marks to Rex Dingle who saved ground on Getmetothemoon wherever he could on the way round and found a seam on the rail going to the final flight which saw her win a shade cosily by half a length from Northern Rose.

She showed a willing attitude on the run-in and given that the going was good to soft in places I’m sure she will be suited by faster conditions if the ground firms up this summer.

So hopefully Getmetothemoon can pick up another mares’ handicap in the weeks ahead.
