On Tuesday September 6th we held the third Anthony Honeyball Golf Day at Cricket St Thomas Golf Club.
24 players/6 teams took part in what turned out to be a very competitive event with our host pipped at the post in a very tight finish. Congratulations to Edmondo Paoloni who scored 40 stableford points on the day and was the winner of the singles competition. Anthony won’t want to be reminded about the 7 on the last hole which spoiled a very good card and ultimately cost him a win, but he did very well to finish second playing off 8 on the day. In third place was Alisdair Harris who played in Sam Stronge’s team who were the winner of the team event.
The course was in excellent condition and although recent changes to the golf course meant it was shorter than it had been, the wind and tight fairways continue to make it a test. A big thank you to the team at Cricket St Thomas Golf Club and especially to the catering team for the excellent hospitality and lovely food. Thank you also to Matt Bisogno from stable sponsors Geegeez who supplied chocolate and alcoholic sustenance throughout the day.
The AJH golf day is always a fun day played and we plan to hold the 4th Anthony Honeyball Golf Day again in 2023 in the first week in September. If you are interested in playing or bringing a team of 4 for next year’s event, please email jeremyblackburn10@gmail.com
