We enjoyed perfect weather for our annual Owners’ day on Saturday with around 250 friends and supporters present for the parade of 62 horses including some interesting unraced youngsters.
Given that most of ours will not be running for another month or so they looked in great condition and top marks to our staff who were all turned out immaculately.
My son Harry, aged seven, was so keen to join in the fun that he was up at six in the morning in his best Sunday suit.
I was able to give a brief running commentary as each horse did a lap or two of our indoor school with two of our stable stars Crest of Glory and Kilbeg King wearing stylish sponsors rugs they earned for winning big races last season.
My thanks to Ron Huggins for once again generously providing the bubbly for the drinks reception and to my mother Sue and her band of helpers for handing out the canapés before the parade and the tea and cakes afterwards.
It was lovely to see so many of our guests wandering round the yard during the afternoon getting close up to the horses.
With a fair wind we have high hopes of kicking on this season with an exciting blend of chasers, hurdlers and bumper types.
Thank you to Megan Dent for taking super photos .. all can be seen and purchased via this link
