AND TODAYS TALKING POINT IS . . . . . . . . .

GORE POINT made an impressive return to action in the bumper at Stratford on Monday.

He made all the running in the hands of Sam Twiston-Davies, readily saw off two challengers on the final bend and galloped on strongly to win by four and three quarter lengths from Top Tier Point.

Owned and bred by the Porlock Vale Stud. Gore Point is a forward going horse that we have always liked, has a smart pedigree and is related to some useful winners on the flat.

He ran very well on his racecourse debut last season at Ludlow in November but everything went wrong on his next start when he was far too headstrong.

I felt he was much better than he showed that day and decided a change of tactics was needed at Stratford where he settled nicely in front and was always in control.

Gore Point wouldn’t want soft ground and will probably go hurdling next though we do have the option of running him in a Listed bumper at Cheltenham in November.
