GLYNN GOES AND GETS HIS FIRST TREBLE . . . . . . . .

Glynn collected a first prize of £10,075 for the Owners Group by completing a hat-trick over fences inside a month with a determined performance from the front in a Class 3 handicap Chase over two miles five furlongs at Newton Abbot on Friday.

He was given a typically positive ride by Sam Twiston-Davies and was our 16th winner of the season which is by some way our best score at this stage of the campaign with our prize money tally already up to £120,000.

Glynn has been a little star for us this summer when you consider that he has come to chasing so late at the age of ten.

There were initially one or two hiccups as he adjusted to fences but he’s got a lot of confidence now and jumps like an experienced handicapper.

He was always just getting the better of a duel with Lallylag over the last quarter mile and despite slightly diving through the last fence he held on well on the flat to claim victory by three quarters of a length.

It was a fine performance by Glynn under a double penalty against some in form rivals. He has lots of options and if the ground remains suitable I wouldn’t be against having a go with him in a really decent novice Chase at Wincanton or maybe Cheltenham.

He is also qualified for veteran chases though I am conscious that he will need a break at some point.

  1. What a difference a change in trainers has made to Glynn, Having Tristan on board is bringing out the best and is leading to a great partnership, and will surely mean many more winners to come in the future.

  2. It’s been an absolute joy to watch Glynn in his recent races, proving what we always knew he was capable of after all his setbacks of the last 2 years or so.
