RAISE A GLASS TO BELLE DE MANECH

BELLE DE MANECH gained her first success over hurdles with an impressive run from the front at Wincanton on Boxing Day.

It was a significant victory in the career of her jockey Rex Dingle who has now ridden 75 winners and so loses his 3 lbs claim.

The pleasing performance of BELLE DE MANECH was in marked contrast to her debut over hurdles at the track last month when she found things happening a bit quickly, got bumped around in the rush to the first flight and didn’t jump with great fluency.

I thought she did well to finish fourth that day but she clearly learned from the experience as she sailed along in the lead on Saturday, jumping fluently, before finding plenty in the straight when challenged by the favourite Rose of Arcadia.

Belle of Manech is a quality, well put together filly, and was firmly in charge in the closing stages. She will make a lovely chaser one day and has an exciting future.

She was bought at auction in France as a two year old by jockey turned agent Ryan Mahon, acting on behalf of owner Martyn Chapman who accompanied him at the sale.

Rex has done well to ride out his claim so quickly. He has worked hard since joining us as a conditional, is light, sensible, and has a great attitude. I see no reason why he shouldn’t continue to progress now that he is a fully fledged jockey.

Happy new year to you and your family
Really enjoyed following your runners since the re start.heres hoping the stable has plenty of luck in the new year and a few winners. Looks to me like you have a few really nice horse’s
    Good luck
    And happy new year

  2. Echo the comment above about Rex, an old head on young shoulders. Seldom flustered, always gives horses a chance to run up to their best. A young jockey with real potential.
