JUNIPER JUMPS TO VICTORY . . . . . .

Juniper delivered our 35th winner of the season with a clear cut success in a £12,000 mares’ handicap Chase over two and three quarter miles at Taunton on Thursday on her second start for us.

Lilith looked set to complete a one two for the yard until falling two fences from home. It was a relief to see her get to her feet but she was a bit sore afterwards and will be on the easy list for a few days.

Juniper has had a few minor issues since she was sent to us this season by a bunch of enthusiasts who race under the banner of Gin N It. But she had been pleasing in her work recently and we found a nice opportunity for her at Taunton where her jumping was foot perfect.

Juniper clearly enjoyed herself and while she has entries at Doncaster on Sunday and Lingfield on Tuesday we will see how she comes out of the race before making any plans.

Further ahead it would make sense to take her back to Cheltenham in April for the valuable mares‘ handicap Chase final in which she was narrowly beaten by My Silver Lining last year.

It’s fair to say the winner has gone on to advertise the form in some style this season.
