GABRIEL FLIES AGAIN . . . . . .

GABRIEL’S GETAWAY doubled his score over fences in the space of 2 weeks, with a cosy victory at Lingfield on Monday in the two mile Sky Sports Racing HD Virgin 535 Handicap Chase worth almost £8,000 to the winner.

It wasn’t plain sailing though as Tom Cannon pinched a clear lead on Madiba Passion but Rex Dingle was alive to the danger and bided his time before launching Gabriel’s Getaway with a strong run that took him to the front inside the final furlong.

Our horse is still quite a big baby, immature mentally, and wasn’t finishing his races over hurdles but he is getting the hang of things and once he got to the leader he won nicely.

While Gabriel’s Getaway’s jumping over fences is already very good he will get even better with experience and has learnt a bit more at Lingfield. Well done also to Sophie Pinkett, who led the winner up.

He does have an entry at Ludlow on Wednesday but he picked up a little cut on the inside of his off hind and I doubt he will turn out again quickly – though we will see how he is in the morning.
