NO CROSS WORDS AT AINTREE . . .

JORDANS CROSS completed a rewarding three days for our in-form team with an impressive winning debut over fences at Aintree on Sunday in the colours of The Steeple Chasers.

On his first start for ten months he was a little bit cautious in the early stages of the two mile £22500 Class 3 Limited Novice Handicap Chase but after that his jumping was awesome as he warmed to the task.

Jordans Cross edged closer to the leaders four from home and was produced by Ben Godfrey with a well-timed run that took him to the front shortly after the final fence.

He then quickened away to win decisively by two and a half lengths. It was a very good ride by Ben on a raw novice.

We bought Jordans Cross after his success in a maiden Point-to-Point in Ireland.

He showed plenty of promise in three runs for us last season before a couple of issues that prevented him running again. We also took the opportunity to give him a wind op.

I was over the moon at such a smart performance on his return at Aintree and I’m delighted for his owners who lost Forward Plan last winter and now have another exciting prospect on their hands.

The plan is to send him to Cheltenham next for another novice handicap Chase on November 16.
